This week is out to get me.

The week started out strong. My sickness was receding, Monday went quickly, I was looking forward to skiing again this weekend. Then I got out the the parking lot to find my tire flat on the ground. I was somewhat put off by this, but I was also determined not to let it get to me. I actually had an okay time changing my tire, finding it good to work with my hands a little bit after doing nothing but sit at a computer all day.

So I drove home on the donut, and endeavored to fix the hole in the tire. My hands still have the bruises from the attempts to use the patching kit. Even this was alright, because by the time Wednesday rolled around, I was ready to put the actual wheel back on my car. This I did, and even though I was starting to feel sick again, I felt good, having fixed something that was broken.

Then this morning, I get almost all the way to work, and wind up on the off-ramp with a flat. The patch kit evidently did not do a very good job of patching the hole. So I spent 30 minutes in the cold slush putting the donut back on. Now I am faced with the prospect of paying for a patch-job, or a new set of tires.

It's odd how something as simple as a flat tire can ruin one's entire outlook for a week. Hopefully after tonight the week will begin looking up again, but I find that not even a quick bout of Guitar Hero at work today is not enough to cheer me up fully.

For the first time in quite a long time I feel very drained. I think that the last time I felt this way was when I was preparing for my Portfolio to get into the DIVAS program at UWM. I was overworked and stressed, and felt like I just wanted to do nothing but sit and stare at the wall.

I'm sure I'll get over it quickly enough, Valentine's day has been fine for the past 4 years, now that I no longer am a part of the unattached half of society. I have a good pizza to look forward to tonight, and a long weekend to catch up on my Rock Band skillz.

That is unless this damn wheel decides to rear its ugly head again.

UPDATE: I just dropped half of my banana on the floor.

Comments:

We both had one heck of a week last week. But - maybe that means that this week will seem more ... optimistic.

Either way, we have more bananas downstairs.

i had bananas. i ate em up. learn to hold your food people, even monkeys can do it. ARE WE NO BETTE THAN MONKEYS? no

BETTE is not really a word, but it might be one in France or something. "how are you doing today monsieur?" "Oh, well I am quite BETTE today sophie, mercie." And then they laugh and play together, but not like that Adam. Let's be serious though, I wanted to explain that my mistake was a simple on, but it might cause problems for your monkey-inferior mind. I wanted to spell "better" which is a descriptive word in it's comparative form, but I was typing quickly and left off the "r". Do you understand now? Correction stated, end

dammit, a simple ONE, not on. Dammit dammit dammit. Proofread you monkey.

That was filled with hilarity.
