We can only hope gas contiues to sky rocket in price thus causing the American consumer to purchase and fund these new and wonderfull cars.

Too true. People tend to get angry when we say it, but gas prices have been un-healthily low up until very recently. People have had no real incentive to conserve or use mass transit.

Not to mention the possibility of an imminent world oil production peak.
