The nose knows.
Smells are wonderful. I may be part of the minority on this one, but the one thing that really affects me is odor. I love me some good smells.Top five best smells ever:
- Fresh Rain - Rain sends off a series of odors that can only be described as euphoric. The crisp full smells that hit your nose right after it starts raining, or the wall of odor that you encounter upon entering a rainly world are things that simply can't be equaled.
- Fall Leaves - Fall gets its specific small from the leaves that it sheds off its trees. They smell slightly sweet and acrid, and everybody instantly recognizes the odor. Combine this one with the one above it and you've got yourself something to delight even the most discerning nostrils.
- Bonfire - It is usually in bursts when you smell this one. That smoky invisible wave of ash that wafts past your nose for only a few seconds, and brings back a myriad of memories of flames and marshmallows. Not to be confused with charcoal cooking fires, which are okay, but not on this list.
- Fresh Asphalt - Weird, I know, but fresh asphalt is something that I love smelling. Most people would consider the smell of fresh asphalt abhorrent, and it is definately not very good for you, but in small doses there is nothing that can compare to it for sheer old-neighborhood-nostalgia.
- Garlic Bread - Of course the list rounds out with some food. Garlic Bread is what comes to mind, but it can be substituted with any really strong and savory smelling food; pizza, seasoned hamburgers, stir fry...all great.
