Pebble Template

My newest template. I'm happy with it. It seems very straightforward.

I'd love to know what you think, Internets, do you hate it? Why?

This week is out to get me.

The week started out strong. My sickness was receding, Monday went quickly, I was looking forward to skiing again this weekend. Then I got out the the parking lot to find my tire flat on the ground. I was somewhat put off by this, but I was also determined not to let it get to me. I actually had an okay time changing my tire, finding it good to work with my hands a little bit after doing nothing but sit at a computer all day.

So I drove home on the donut, and endeavored to fix the hole in the tire. My hands still have the bruises from the attempts to use the patching kit. Even this was alright, because by the time Wednesday rolled around, I was ready to put the actual wheel back on my car. This I did, and even though I was starting to feel sick again, I felt good, having fixed something that was broken.

Then this morning, I get almost all the way to work, and wind up on the off-ramp with a flat. The patch kit evidently did not do a very good job of patching the hole. So I spent 30 minutes in the cold slush putting the donut back on. Now I am faced with the prospect of paying for a patch-job, or a new set of tires.

It's odd how something as simple as a flat tire can ruin one's entire outlook for a week. Hopefully after tonight the week will begin looking up again, but I find that not even a quick bout of Guitar Hero at work today is not enough to cheer me up fully.

For the first time in quite a long time I feel very drained. I think that the last time I felt this way was when I was preparing for my Portfolio to get into the DIVAS program at UWM. I was overworked and stressed, and felt like I just wanted to do nothing but sit and stare at the wall.

I'm sure I'll get over it quickly enough, Valentine's day has been fine for the past 4 years, now that I no longer am a part of the unattached half of society. I have a good pizza to look forward to tonight, and a long weekend to catch up on my Rock Band skillz.

That is unless this damn wheel decides to rear its ugly head again.

UPDATE: I just dropped half of my banana on the floor.

Pumpkinrot

It's a really good feeling when someone that inspires you notices your work. PumpkinRot, who rekindled my fascination with halloween last year, found it fitting to toss up a post on his own site with a one of my photos of the Traveler.

Makes me all that much more anxious for this October. I find myself planning already; gonna bury some clothes in May.

Paul is done.

Sadly, Ron Paul's showing last night confirmed what most of us were thinking over the preceding weeks: His campaign was an internet phenomenon, nothing more. He was able to transform his mass of internet support into some real numbers, primarily dollar-type numbers, but he is in the wrong party. I'm sad to say it, but I think that it is about time that our Ron Paul yard sign comes down.

In other News, Barack and Hillary are still neck and neck. I admit that I was hoping for a landslide in Barack's favor, (and that is what we got in MN, at least) but I am happy that he still has a good chance to get the nomination.

Suffice to say that the real political adrenaline rush is over for a few weeks, we can all relax and spend some time worrying about the real problems, like Britney's new sex tape.
